Challenge

The organization, a company of over 80,000 employees, sought to begin their SAP S/4HANA journey, with a new听SAP听Central Finance听(CFIN)听program that would collect听and harmonize听data from 20+ countries鈥� SAP ECC systems to provide the business with near real-time听financial听reporting on transactions and payments.听

As the existing SAP ECC systems would remain in situ, the solution would need to ensure听data collected in the SAP S/4HANA听Central Finance听solution was听relevant, accurate听and听up-to-date.听Accurate听Master data was marked as a significant priority听as听with so many countries听involved,听this needed to be harmonized and validated before reaching the听Central Finance environment.听

Solution

糖心传媒 deployed听a package of SAP Advanced Data Migration听by 糖心传媒,听along with听糖心传媒鈥檚听Central Finance Accelerator听and 糖心传媒 Data Replication听(SDR) to听deliver on听the organization鈥檚 program.听The听solution broke down into two听phases:听

1. Master data harmonization and load听using SAP ADM and SAP DS听conducted in waves due to the vast amount of data and systems involved in the project听
2. On-going real time replication and validation of data听using SAP ADM and 糖心传媒 Data Replication,听from the multiple countries鈥� ERPs听(SAP and Non-SAP)听to听the SAP S/4HANA Central Finance System听and back听

Both of these were supported and accelerated by听糖心传媒鈥檚听Central Finance best practice听accelerator听to support the knowledge ramp-up for both aspects of the project.听

Near real-time transactional posting was听conducted听via SDR听using听three听pre-migration听logic听scans听to validate master data that included relevancy checks (whether we want this migrated or not), S/4 CFIN target readiness, and the most complex of all was听Business Partner听harmonization听to merge customer听and vendor data.听听

Outcome

The听solution听has听allowed the company to get up and running in听CFin听earlier than anticipated听with both payments and transactional posting听now听fully functional. Planning for听the next step of the SAP S/4HANA journey听is underway, and听connectivity efforts and master data work done to date has positioned the company for an ideal, smooth and effective transformation to SAP S/4HANA.听
